Assam shines again and this time it's at NASA. A 22 year old boy, Manash Pratim Borah from the state became the first person from the Northeast region to have led an Indian team to NASA. Manash and his team won the Best International Team Award- Jesco Von Puttakamer Award -at the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, 2016.
They brought the award for creating a human exploration rover for alien surfaces with a non-pneumatic wheel.
